Anyone hear yet?

3daughters- unfortunately I am still waiting! The myUM is still saying my application is under review. I called admissions on Monday and was told decision letter would be mailed shortly but still nothing!

So sorry that you are still waiting…hang in there! Best of luck to you!

I finally found out! I was accepted into the BA program. I had hoped for the BFA but they are giving me an almost full ride academically so it’s looking better and better (:

Congrats kzripgirl. My D is in the same boat at FSU; BA and a very nice scholarship. I know she would prefer UM over FSU but we are still waiting. The people at UM were so much nicer and treated us extremely well during the visit so they are definitely preferred by her. How did you finally find out? About what percentage was the scholarship, if you don’t mind my asking?

Krzripgirl-Congrats on your acceptance with a huge scholarship. Miami seems to be very generous with the scholarships. My D was very fortunate with the academic scholarship as well. We are going to visit next weekend and check it out since my D auditioned in Chicago. Just keep in mind that you can use that big scholarship to negotiate with other schools that you might be interested in and get them to try and match Miami’s scholarship (or come close). Congrats again!

Enjoy your visit 3daughters. We had to hit 3 states in 3 days so it was a whirlwind but we managed to work in the audition and visit plus a few hours on south beach before rushing to the airport. Nice campus, nice students, and superb faculty. Of the 5 schools we visited, UM was in the top 2. We flew into FLL, stayed up there and drove to Coral Gables. The traffic between FLL and Coral Gables was BRUTAL almost 2 hours to go 30 miles on I-95. Not sure what it was about but we saw that coming and going so if you end up in FLL, make sure to leave a lot of room for the supposedly short hop down to the Gables.

Sorry for the late reply! I received the presidential scholarship which is 23,000 a year I also am a national merit finalist which is an additional 16,000 and as a Florida resident I will receive additional money. I found out through the myUM portal…finally (:
