Anyone hear yet??

kerrie, did u get a mail today?

Still nothing for me...

nothing today, but I got NEU package today.

finally got something today! Im in! w00t

Although I sent in all my material, I though the info from my school/teachers didn't all get there, but I was wrong. Got a letter saying I was accepted about a week ago. When do we hear back from the fin aid office? Besides the medals program, what types of merit aid do they offer? How many people get extra merit aid? Also, what's it like with the 3:1 male:female ratio? I'm currently at an all girls school so the 3:1 ratio sounds like a nice change...

I just got my financial aid package today. Medalist :)!

ok, i STILL didn't get anything from RPI. so lame. for me, anyway. lol. congrats the rest of you!! =)

I, too, am a medalist. Marines920, where do you live? I'm on the west coast so I get to wait a couple extra days to get notification from east coast colleges.

i live reallllllllly far away from the east coast,, (asia), so i guess I have to wait few more days.. -_-

Marlgirl, I'm from New York and less than 3 hours from the school... so I'm one of the first ones to hear.

Answering your earlier questions:
When do we hear back from the fin aid office? - you should hear in a week or two.

Besides the medals program, what types of merit aid do they offer?
-I know something called the leadership award exists... their other merit aid scholarships are tough to get and the medal is their best scholarship.

How many people get extra merit aid? - check old college confidential forums from last year.. some people got a lot, while others got nothing.

Also, what's it like with the 3:1 male:female ratio? I'm currently at an all girls school so the 3:1 ratio sounds like a nice change...
- err.... I hate the ratio.

Also, be aware that Troy is not a pretty city.

With the following stats/info are there any other scholarships I could qualify for?

1550 SAT, 800 Math IIC and Biology (M), 760 Writing, 5s on bio, mechanics, bc calc, french lang, english lit, 4 us, NMF
~3.96 UW, 4.65 W, 1/~85

debate (9-12, coach/judge for 7/8th graders as a junior/senior), MUN (3 years), piano (since forever), community service (3 years), math/philosophy club (3 years), varsity badminton (1 year, then they no longer had a team...)

Any scholarships for girls? Or... just students with high stats?

As a female, they're going to be super generous, but it doesn't matter because you have terrific terrific stats... uhh.. you should get a lot of merit aid :). Good luck.

LOL They are VERY generous with Fin Aid you guys (EA acceptee). I got the medal, and some other type of merit aid that was worth a little bit more than the medal. Basically I got a free ride, and I know other people who applied and got virtually the same thing. Are any of you going to the open house thing on April 9? I would like to meet some of you guys.

Oh and one more thing:

CoNgRaTuLaTiOnS =)

anyone not get anything yet? have i given it enough time that i should call them now? i'm guessing my letter probably got lost in the mail?

JadeRain05, what exactly did you get the merit aid for? What are your stats?

.wow.their fin aid package is awesome..well for me it is....

hey jelda? I come from hk and received the medal too! yet for some reason i did not apply to rpi

If anyone has any question, I'm a current student, feel free to send me an IM at BosSox1985, just tell me you're from the board. I can also give you truthful messages about the school, stuff the tour guides or faculty won't tell you.

Yep..very generous with females. I got the leadership award and an Emily Roebling (sp?) award as well. Good bargain. I'm visting this Saturday!
