Today I called admissions office and conveyed your expressions to them. It’s utterly embarrassing they way they are treating the most important aspect of this university; YOU, potential Cal Poly students. They saw me so upset the assistant referred me to her supervisor, and the supervisor referred me to the head of admissions. The head of admissions explained and shared his frustration but they only have 8 people reviewing close to 35,000 applications. So, Thursday I have a meeting with a our ASI president in hopes to put pressure on the Academic Senate, the provost, the Vice-president and the President. I assure you, the admission folks are not sitting on their behinds, they are going above and beyond the call of duty to give you a response as soon as is humanly possible. Thank you for your interest in Cal Poly Pomona though and I pledge my support to all of you who have not received a response.

Just checked and I am now waitlisted. I can’t explain how disapointed I am. My major is nonimpacted and I turned in my transcripts on time.

thanks calpolyengineer i didn’t realize they’re so short on faculty but i wish they didn’t send us false hopes these past couple months i guess it’s still going to be a while.

@ JL2688, did it actually say “waitlisted” on your broncodirect? if you can be more clear on that, it’d be appreciated.

no just eligible for consideration which = wait listed essentially from what this forum has been able to figure out.

If I don’t hear anything from them by the last day of April, I’m going to just go ahead and pay the deposit for my back up college.

are there other csu campuses that are taking this long. 8 people review 35,000 applicants!..unbelievable… Why does it seem like Cal Poly Pomona is lacking the most funds? Some friends of mine even asked if the school is going in default and potentially closing down.

Thank you CalPolyEngineer for the information.

I called again today. They said by the end of this month I should get an answer. I however never specified I was a transfer student so this could be for freshman

Thanks for the info, CalPolyEngineer.
Geez, I didn’t know the CSUs were taking this long! I’m still waiting from Cal Poly Pomona, Cal State Fullerton, and Cal State Long Beach. >.<

I’d like to know this too.

@friskana

I’m sorry to say Cal Poly Pomona is probably the LAST CSU still working on acceptance/rejections as of now. I have already received my reply from Long Beach (a month ago) and I have a friend who has gotten his letter from Fullerton around Oct-Nov 09. The mail either got lost in the mail or you might have not made it…
It is best for you to personally contact them about it because the other CSUs are much more organized than Pomona.

Sent them an email about the whole “eligible for consideration” thing and when we could expect a response. Got this answer:

Hello,

What this term " Eligible for consideration" means, is that you along with a lot of other applicants are CSU eligible (meets the general admissions requirements); however, currently we cannot accommodate you.
With that being said you are on a “waitlist” just in case we have anymore space available.

If you have other pending opportunities with other Universities, perhaps you should pursue those options.

Best regards,

Got the almost the same msg above, except the last sentence.

I hope this helps you,"

i think its almost time to reconsider now. CC here i come.

Yeah, I’m considering either going to PCC or UC Merced.

Uhm why am I being wait listed if I attend BOTH tier one schools? I call bs

Its 4/23/10, this is seriously disturbing. My application status is still “referred to impacted plan”. I’m really hoping CPP accepts me, otherwise I’m going to UCM unless UCI or UCB accepts me.

to love4learning - my status says the same too, very annoying waiting for their response. What 's your major btw?

@ studarch, Mechanical Engineering, How about you?

Uggggh !!! I’m so annoyed with cpp this is getting a bit rediculous and very unproffessional. My status went from ready for review to eligible for consideration to academic review and back to eligible for consideration. I don’t even think eligible for consideration actually means waitlisted. This is completely appalling and I’m tired of them giving us the run around.!
