I just called admissions and then got transferred to the ME department. I asked them about my application status “refferred to impacted plan”, and they said admitted students have already been notified. If you haven’t been notified already then you have been rejected :(

So, so sad! I hate how they’ve kept me at the edge of my seat by being inneficient with communicating and updating their decisions.

To those who got rejected: did you guys had OK grades? My best friend’s brother got denied and he is Tier I with a 3.6 GPA, high 1100s SATs (ME major) ***??? I cannot believe it, he’s now heading to UCR, but man… it truly sucks! I’m still a little stunned to be honest! He is a smart kid. It’s Cal Poly Pomona’s loss.

I hope Cal Poly isn’t making a huge mistake by being overly selective only to find out later that the are short of students and having to scramble to fill the spots at the last minute with bottom of the barrel students. There seems to be a bunch of highly qualified students that will be going to UCs and LBSU and CSUF when their first choice was Pomona. This is unprecedented. I realize that they’re aiming for 3,000 combined freshmen and transfer students next year when they had over 4,500 this year, and there are about 8,000 more applicants this year. Do these numbers justify the jump in admissions standards this year? I guess we’ll find out, but I sure hope the admissions office knows what they are doing.

I’m a transfer student from a community college currently waitlisted. I was accepted into Cal Poly Pomona back in my senior year in high school but I hope I don’t get rejected. The wait is killing me…:(

I was thinking about the same thing, but from the looks of it, those who received an offer for admissions did so a while ago. So, right now all those who are in a dilemma were put on the wait-list, although the university failed by describing it as “eligible for consideration”. That was the stupidest thing to do, they should have told students straight up, “eligible for consideration means you qualify for admissions per CSU standards, but at this moment there is not room for you because we are waiting for a response from those who did get a formal offer”. However, the Cal Poly Pomona stock has and will continue rising for two things:

We stand out within the system. Only of of two polytechnics.

In today’s economy, hands-on approach to academics looks very appealing to employers. (They don’t want to spend time training you)

I’m hoping to transfer in as a Civil Engineer major, but my Application Status is still “Referred to Impacted Plan.” What does this mean? Anybody have any other updates?

@ ribbitmetimbers, my status is the same for ME. If you look at my earlier post today, you’ll see what admissions and the ME dept told me.

I’m hoping that maybe after May 1st, a spot will open up for me. Admissions said I was waitlisted, but the ME Dept said I was rejected. I’m confused :P

Words cannot express how frustrated I am. I’ve hit the point where I jsut want to cry. I got an email saying that I cant be offered admissions but I could remain on the waitlist in case a spot opens up. I’ve responded and intend to remain on the waiting list but I pretty much called it quits on Cal Poly. I wish everyone on here the best of luck if you’re decision is still pending, for those who got accepted I congratulate you, and for those who got denied, i wish you the best in your journey and dont give up on your dreams, if Cal Poly didnt work out, then there’s some different and even better for you in store.

Sorry about that Ivan, I’m pretty sure Cal Poly will be missing out on you! I saw your post on Cal Poly’s Facebook page and I thank you for considering this university. I can guarantee you that it’s a great place, but would have been even greater with a student like you, best of luck in the future!

For those of you confused about “referred to impacted plan” it doesn’t mean you’ve been declined. I was on the waitlist for about a month under that status for ME before I got accepted. I could be wrong but I think it means

My reply must have got cut off I’m typing this on a phone … I was looking for a link that I saw a few weeks back that I think said impacted majors are not selected based on location (normally locals are given first priority). My gpa is barely above a 3.2 I probably got a bit lucky.

Hi my appicaltion status says “Impacted Plan CSU Eligible” is that diffrent from the “referred to impacted plan” or is it the same thing. Have i been rejected, waitlisted, or are they still working on the applications. Im so confussed can anyone explain it to me.

oh ok thats what i thought at first but i saw other people saying that they got an email saying they were on the wait list and i never got one so i thought it might of been something diffrent but thanks anyways

Anyone apply to this program and been accepted, rejected/denied , wait listed, or provisional???

Just looking for other input on the time frame of knowing…I called and all the lady could tell me was I should check my Bronco in a few days as I my application is coming up on her list…“I was so greatful they even gave me that news, I didn’t ask if it was good, waitlisted, or what…knowing how busy they are”

Keeping my fingers crossed Tier 2 transfer - if I don’t get in - I have been accepted to Cal State San Marcos… so I won’t be entirely crushed…but CAL Poly is my first choice …

:) Hearing from anyone going into the Landscape Architecture Program would be super…Thanks

I don’t know if I’d take it as gospel that the “Impacted Plan CSU Eligible” means waitlist. Unless they are taking people off the waitlist recently, it may not be a certainty. Mine said that for as long as I have been checking online and I got denied today. So who knows. Good luck to anyone else though. Looks like I’m heading to UCI.
