Anyone heard from Cal Poly Pomona yet?

@GGforUguys If I go to CC, then I could register later on.

They better be not accepting people who they have rejected. If they want those people, why they rejected them and didn’t reject us? I think they should tell us immediately after rejecting us but not waiting to the last minutes to send rejections and give us hope.

Apologize for my gramma mistakes. I got mad about the tests that I took today… :X

the california budget has been screwed since 2010. Therefore admissions doesn’t want to take in too many people. They’d rather wait applicants out because there are around 3000 more applications this year. We’ll have to bear with them. It would be a good thing actually if we waited until june 1 because applicants in 2010 got in late june and early july.

If they’re making us wait, might as well accept us … Well accept those who are willing to wait.

@x14sta totally agree!
There is one thing that I worried about. Is that I have applied for a CC and for the 2012 summer. The classes are starting on June 25 and I need to register and get classes as soon as CCP reject me in order to get the classes I want. If CCP accepts me on late June or early July, I won’t be able to go there…

U can add a class then drop it if u get in

Sent from my SPH-D700 using CC

I think that’s kind of unfair to have to wait until June or July when every other college has sent you an acceptance or rejection letter by May 1st. Also, that you need to submit your deposit by May 1st for most schools. I simply can’t wait that long because what if I was still rejected after waiting for that long? I’m not going to sit out of college, there’s literally nothing more for me to take at my CC (have around 90 units). Plus, it makes things difficult.

At most of the other universities I applied to, they’ve already chosen classes and I have to register during the summer for them to see what I can get…bs but whatever. Some require me to take a plane and stay there for a week or so.

I hope they can wrap things up for me by the 29th or the 30th. Maybe I can send them an e-mail requesting if I was accepted or not or call. I hope they seriously realize how many qualified applicants they’ll be throwing away by not having everything sorted out by the end of this month. I really would like to go to this school, I just simply can’t wait and go on “faith” that I got in. I think I’m just going to assume I was rejected 'cause my major was non-impacted and only 500 or so apply for it.

I called the EE dep today and they told me that transfer applications are currently being reviewed so… probably next week we’ll hear from them. Don’t lose hope my fellow transfers! XD

@GGforUguys, I applied to the EE major as well, but as a first time freshman. Did they mention anything about the status of freshman applications?

@Dwardom, The guy who answered my call asked me if I applied as a freshman or transfer, so he only gave me info about transfers…

Anyone’s status changed today? Today is Friday.

A friend of mine was accepted today. Bus admin. major 3.2 gpa 1400/2400 SAT. Stay up!!

Mine didn’t change… My major is statistic(I don’t know if it’s a impacted major). My GPA is 3.38 and SAT is 1120/1650… I just applied to two schools… The other one rejected me. I bet I am going to CC and becoming a member of transfer. :D

Does anybody know the ratio of females in computer science major at calpoly pomona? because i am a girl in computer science FTF and wanted to know if their are other female freshmans in that major.

CC is a good option. It is way cheaper and less stress. =)))))

I’m a female freshmen applying for FTF comp science/eng.

CC may be cheaper, but it ain’t that great. When I first started, I found it extremely hard to get classes and the rooms of all my classes were lined with crashers. This still happens but since then they’ve instituted a wait-list at my CC, which makes getting classes even harder for some people. It was $26 a unit when I first started and it’s now $46 for the incoming freshmen in Fall 2012 here.

I think it depends on what major you pick. Most people I know are not able to transfer out in two years and take three years that are science majors. Since they’ve cut a lot of classes since I’ve started, it makes getting classes people need even harder because they may not offer them. I know a lot of people who want to go to UC’s from a CC as well and that is not a “less stressful” thing for them. I would expect to study a lot still. Parking is generally horrible if you commute. There’s virtually no social life at CC. I didn’t find a good group of friends until my last year, which sucks 'cause I’m leaving as far as I know and we only just met.

The good thing I found about CC is that you’ll eventually see all the people who don’t belong in your major eventually weeded out and get to know the faces of your classmates pretty well. There are a lot of people going nowhere with their lives at my CC but there are handfuls of highly motivated individuals you’ll want to attach yourself to. Usually the teachers are pretty qualified and have gone to pretty good schools. As far as I know, most of my teachers were from UCLA, UC Berkeley, or Ivies. They also offer an honors program at some CC’s if you’re into going to UCLA.

@jdmjacob can u please tell me if your friend is in the service local area or not? Thanks! :)

@caldud I Rly wish I don’t have to experience all that stress if I am forced to go to CC. My sister went to PCC after being wait listed at UCLA last year. Right now she’s not getting all her classes. Specifically which CC are u going to that has professors that taught at ivies? Is it an honors class?
