Anyone know how to Get vids. off Youtube to Powerpoint

I need to get a video from off of youtube onto powerpoint (2007). Does anyone know how to do this?

does anyone know how to get a video from youtube to windows movie maker?

Thank you in advance!

There are websites that let you download Youtube videos in .flv format. I don't know if this format works with Powerpoint or Movie Maker though.

just embed it normally. as long as the flv file is on the same disk/drive as the powerpoint, then it should be able to play. so go download the youtube video and make sure it's on C: or whatever drive you use.

some websites convert it while downloading it (.mov or .wma) and you can probably put that it in the ppt

can't you ask the original person for the video?

As far as I know, Powerpoint does not accept .flv videos. You need to convert the video file first to a compatible format such as .mpeg or .wmv, then just embed it into the slide.

I just found a cool site, vixy.net, that will allow you to convert videos straight from YouTube to .avi, .mov, .mp4, and .mp3. It takes about 5 minutes and all you have to do is paste in the link from YouTube and select your output format. After it's done converting, you can choose where to save it, and then from there you can import it into PowerPoint.

If that doesn't work, I know of another way that involves a few more steps.

The way i usually do it i first copy and paste the url of the video into vixy.net to convert it into a FLV file. Then I go to zamzar.com. to convert the file to an mpeg file which I can insert into powerpoint. Zamzar sends you the converted file in around 15-20 minutes. From there you can embed it by inserting a movie clip, and then browsing for the file.
