I'm searching for institutions that pretty much are safe, and I don't have the treat of being gunned down by street thugs and hoodlums that may have a hit on me. I'm joking of course. I want a general education that's utterly decent.Pretty much that's it. Does anyone know of any school that fit this criteria?

The two CCs in Brooklyn and the City are Kingsborough and BMCC, respectively. Kingsborough is located right next to the beach (Manhattan Beach/Brighton Beach). The campus is really huge! Lots of parking space. They have a large football field but the last time I was there it was still under construction. It’s pretty easy to get there if you use public transportation bc there are three different bus stops right next to the school. I went there once to pick my boyfriend up and I walked right into one of the main buildings with him without anyone asking me for ID so I don’t know about the safety. Manhattan/Brighton Beach is a mainly Jewish/Russian neighborhood if that matters to you.

I am also looking into Kingsborough, LaGuardia and City Tech. I’ll keep checking this thread as I’m interested in decent yet affordable education as well.

In Manhattan, the safest would probably be Baruch, Hunter, John Jay. For Brooklyn: City Tech, and Brooklyn. Hunter and Brooklyn are mostly liberal arts. That may be the education that I think you’re looking for. Baruch is all business, John Jay is criminal justice, and City Tech is engineering.
