<p>I've decided to add a new thread on transfer students who are still pending for ucla. I applied as an english major, 3.3 overall gpa at nyu, will be a junior, tons of extracurriculars and good essays. Got into uci, but still waiting from usc and ucla before i make my final decision. From what i've gathered so far, i think ucla is on a wait list/rolling basis status right now since most transfer applicants have already gotton their decisions (this sucks!). Anyone have any other ideas why ucla still has pending applicants?</p>

<p>Wow! You are a political science major with a 3.8 and you still haven't heard from UCLA? I thought all decisions for each department came out at around the same time? You shouldn't be a borderline candidate based on your GPA, but it sounds like that is the case.</p>

<p>I'm leaning towards UCB but i still would like to know just to make the right decision. I'm more comfortable in L. A. but i do think UCB>UCLA</p>
<p>I think I'll wait a few more days if not i'll just submit my SIR. I do want to double major in legal studies at UCB so a few more days wont hurt.</p>

<p>i got rejected... this sucks like no other. was this cause I was borderline? or was it cause they neglected to post their decision until the last minute cause i was rejected? i'm appealing for sure. anyone have advice on appeals?</p>

<p>well.. i had a 3.04 fall semester of 2005 and the semester after that (which is this semester, which they haven't seen yet) i got a 3.75. My total, including freshman year, is 3.3 (so the gpa they received was significantly lower ~ 3.00 ish.) Loads of extracurriculars, and solid essays. If I appeal, what will they reconsider? will they merely look at the letter and base their decision on that, or will they actually look at my application again?? this is seriously disappointing cause i always wanted to go to ucla =(</p>
<p>I think they take a new look at the app if there is significantly new information. A 3.75 seems like significantly new info and an upward grade trend.</p>
