Are you guys all deferred applicants?

(Copy-pasted from the "After 3 PM?" thread):

Yeah guys. Try and log onto the admitted students portal: http://admit.stanford.edu.

You'll first need to create your SUNet ID and password at Stanford University SUNet ID.

Hope this helps! I really don't understand how Stanford can be putting you guys through this... :/

No, there are a few RD people here (including me)

Me too--still waiting for that one email!

O Stanford, Stanford, wherefore art thou Stanford?

I just tried to create a SUNet ID; it said that I have "pending sponsorship"... did this method actually work for anyone out there who's still waiting?

^same thing happened for me.

Admitted students must be able to access the admitted student portal, right? If that's true, then they must have a SUNet ID. If they have the ID, they didn't get the "pending sponsorship" page. Ergo, if you get that page, you were rejected. That's a theory...

I'd have to agree with Tobman, unfortunately.

Well, not necessarily; all the kids who are waiting are obviously taking the route of identifying themselves via SSN and so forth. The admitted kids would most likely use the ID # given to them in their acceptance letter (quicker and gives them yet another excuse to look at it) to create their SUNet IDs.

Yeah, but why would you be sponsored -allowed access to create an email address and anything else with a stanford identity -if you haven't accepted an offer?

Even admitted students might not have decided they want to go to stanford.

So I'd imagine you'd get "sponsored" once you commit.

edit:: echang posted before me, this was in response to tobman.

but maybe it activates from the link in your e mail??

"I signed up [for the sunet id] and I'm not resolved on going.
Has anyone "axessed" their financial aid awards yet? It says you can view it on the axess, but I can't seem to."
That's from an accepted students thread. Clearly this guy is talking about a page we aren't seeing, and another person wrote
"No; making your SUNETID does not mean your going," which means that all admitted students can make ids

ok, this is rediculous. Have any of the admitted people been able to use their ID's to access SUNET??

Yeah, that's what the other thread http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/stanford-university/482173-does-creating-sunet-id-mean-you-enrolling.html is about.

i think what I saw on SUNet ID was some crap... typed in a bogus name and out in my birthdate and gender and saw the same thing as when i typed in my real name

dude *** i havent gotten an email yet!! My friend got hers at 3 pm!

I won't even bother trying that sunet thing...
I feel like I'm gonna jinx it hahaha

I got the "your app. is complete" email, so I assume my email didn't block this...

^ same.. RD applicant here.
