Anyone visited campus?

Hey all,
I was just wondering if anyone had been to campus. I am planning to go up sometime in April and see the schools. There are pictures online but I want to see the facilities too. Anyone have any comments to make about the schools' area, campus (is there one or are there two?), etc?

Thanks

Geneva is a pretty small town. I went to school in the area, but not to these schools. The area in general is very rural.

I'm waiting to see if I get in.

The campus is beautiful. I went during the noreaster last April (stressful drive, but nice visit.) We ended up staying an extra night because of the snow, and found Geneva to be small, a little old/rundown, but nice none-the-less. The school is right on one of the finger lakes (can't remember which one off the top of my head) which is nice. It's not my faaaaavorite campus I've visited, but it's still gorgeous and I wouldn't have a problem with it at all.

How's the area? I know it was snowing, but did you notice if there was a sufficient amount of things to do for the students? Thanks

We really didn't go to far around town...
We went and saw a movie at a theater that looked like it got a decent crowd, but other than that, I'm afraid I can't help you out all that much. Like I said, it's kind of an old factory town, so I don't think it's hopping, but I really can't say from experience.

My neighbor's son went there and they are obsessed. The next time I see them, I'll try to remember to ask and post their responses. However, keep in mind that for most colleges like HWS there is so much going on on campus that the surrounding area turns out to be unimportant really.

The campus is very pretty, and as someone pointed out, is located on the North end of Seneca Lake. ( one of the Finger Lakes ) The college owns shoreline on the lake, and has a boathouse and docks. I was told their sailing team was very good.
As you travel away from the lake front, you come a large grassy "quad area"
with both classroom buildings and dorms surrounding it, that are part of the Hobart College section of the campus. Continuing away from the lake, you cross a street and come to the library and student union buildings ( the student union was under construction and being expanded.) Beyond these buildings, you continue up a small hill that puts you into the old William Smith College part of the campus, with a mix of very nice newer co-ed dorms and some of the original WS dorms that are still women only, at the top of the hill. The Athletic Facilities are back behind them.
Activities wise, the school likes it's sports teams and most of them are quite good within their respective conference. A lot of the students seem to participate in a sport there. There were a lot of scheduled activities on campus when we visited.
Geneva is a small old industrial town with not a lot to do, but Rochester is an hour or less away.
