Anyone watch "Jeopardy" last night?

Middlebury was featured on last night's episode of Jeopardy.

The Final Jeopardy answer was:

"In 2008, Middlebury College in Vermont won its 2nd straight championship in this sport introduced in a 1997 novel."

Question: What is Quidditch?

Yes, I was so excited when I saw it!

This Final Jeopardy question was, for obvious reasons, far easier for me than most…

At the accepted days, part of the Sun. evening entertainment was a great presentation by the guy (now graduated) who started quiddich. He talked mostly about all the fun of the World Cup, now an international competition thanks to McGill participating.

I saw that particular show too. As an alumnus I find the link between Middlebury and Quidditch to be kind of embarrassing. It seems to trivialize the school. Just my $0.02 worth.

Gee Lax… you just TRYING to start a quibble?

Now that there are about 40 or so schools that have a team, just like there are 40 or so schools who now claim an environmental studies major, does it still seem as embarrassing or it is that Midd is just a leader in all things? :)

I stand corrected. There’s nothing wrong with intercollegiate Quidditch.

In other news, Middlebury has just announced a new major in Narniology.
