Anyone who has already taken GRE?

Hi everyone,
I am going to take GRE in October. I am appying to some graduate school of education in the USA. GRE is too difficult for me, especially math and geometry. One of my friends who had taken this test told me that she was asked math problems that are not elementary arithmetics, algebra and geometry as it is written in GRE books. I wonder if it is true. Does anyone know this?
Besides, I want to know how important math score is in the admission of students who are appying for school of education. It is more likely that i will not get good score on math:(
Thank you beforehand

GRE math is basically algebra, geometry, and graph intepretation...it just uses a lot more difficult forms of them. Your most difficult questions will involve multiple algebraic relationships and ask you to determine if another such relationship is true based on the assumptions...and they usually involve using a careful eye to pick out inconsistencies. Your biggest challenge will be time if you find math difficult, because the first 10 or so questions may really stump you for awhile since it's computer adaptive.

Usually, if you're seeing problems you've never seen in a GRE book, that's a good thing -- if the problems are very difficult, it means you're getting a good score and the test is picking the hardest problems available for you.
