haha
i just took a practice test of AMC 12 for the first time and scored a 69
it's so hard
i think it was hard for me cuz i did not get an official pre calc education
i tested out of pre calc so im kinda shallow in that area.
but anyways
do u guys know other ways of preparing for it other than doing art of problem solving?
i don really wanna pay for their lessons
i want something FREE
help plz?

Get the AoPS books.
Study contest math.

how much is it and how long does it normally take to prepare for it?

^ they are pretty expensive like ~$40 per book...well maybe not that expensive but definitely worth it.

where did u get the practice test?

well i just typed amc 12 practice test on google
and it says 2001 AMC 12 questions and solutions
so im like sweet and i took it

and r u sure it is worth it?
is it AOPS vol. 1?

AoPS is one of the most renowned contest books for sure, although I don't know how long it takes to prepare for it.

If your taking the AMC 10 AOPS vol. 1 should be sufficent but if you ar etking the AMC 12 get AOPS vol.2 as well.

uhhhhhhh
r u kidding
they r too expensive
i can only buy one
so i guess ill just get vol 2 then

Actually, if you're currently scoring a 69 on the 12, you should read volume 1 first. Volume 2, as I understand it, is more on the level of the AIME.

ok ill get vol 1 then

Dam it I hate the AMC. I took that test 3 times in a row now. Probably more if I include middle school. I never made it into AIME but all my friends did. DAAAAAMIT
