Anything good to say about any Texas public universities that are not UT, UTD or A&M?

Do Texans still get instate tuition at UArkansas? They are supposed to have a really good business school and it is probably about four hours from DFW.

UArkansas and "really good" don't fit in the same sentence.

dsultemeir: I have no earthly idea where you could have heard about some magical 3.0 GPA rule for UT. Maybe that's what happened in 88.

I openly acknowledge that my knowledge of Texas A&M and their transfer procedures is rather limited, but I am familiar with UT because I'm currently contemplating going there next year as a transfer.

As for this 3.0 thing you've heard about, UT does offer some rejected freshmen applicants the CAP program where the student takes courses at a satelite UT campus, like UTa or UTsa, and if they maintain a 3.2 GPA after 30 or more hours, they get automatic admissions into UT. While the CAP kids get automatic admissions into the university, they do not get automatic admissions into whatever school they want. Usually CAP kids end up in the COLA. Like I stated earlier, the average admitted transfer GPA for UT was ~3.6 in either 06 or 07. This isn't my opinion or something some random random person told me, I literally saw this somewhere on the UT site.

Also, the GPA you need to transfer really really depends on which school you're trying to get into at UT. For business, the average transfer GPA is ~3.8+

This has the transfer results for 00-01, and I can assure you that it's harder to transfer now.

Apparently, the Sam Walton foundation has endowed the Arkansas school of business LOADS of money and they have really done wonders technologically with it. I don't know this firsthand, but recently some of the kids in town have gone there for that reason that could not get into UT or A&M business school. Of course, you have to resign yourself to a school whose chant is "Soooooo-eeeee piggy piggy" No lie....I was at the Cotton Bowl.....
