Amazing!

Amazingly enough I was able to get in despite the blasted top 10% rule.

stats:

rank - 138/782
SAT Score- 1340
Course Load - Most rigorous
Community service - 1300 hours
Club Activities-

Pres & Founder of FBLA
Lots of various PR Positions in clubs like Key Club, Red Cross, etc

I applied day before deadline, so hopefully late appliers like me will be finding out soon :)

All of your stats look really good, well except for your rank. Congrats on getting in. =)

I applied well before the deadline and still haven't heard.

Do they wait longer to tell tranfers? I'm transferring from a junior college out of state.

-A

in state?

Congrats

No, I mentioned above i'm out-of-state.

-A

I think he was refering to the first guy. Tranfers are really hard as is for in state students trying to get to UT.

Wow, my SATs were higher, took a hard courseload too, and good EC, but didn't get in. I had only 200 hours community service, though. Congratulations!

Sorry to hear that Kayvee. What were your stats?

Thanks everyone. Yeah I'm in state, I guess my hours were what put me over the top.

Does anyone know how much UT-Austin costs per year? In their web it says it's only $13,000 a year including room and board. I don't think that's right.

More around 17k including misc fees food and stuff you spend extra.

Thanks max... but what are

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/showthread.php?t=44312

these guys talking about then? I'm out of state international btw.

13,000 per semester

it can't be 13k a semester thats crazy its more like 8k a semester, close to 17/18k a year

out-of-state...

oh i see...either way tuition is going up like crazy. damn president bush oh yeah he really raised the max pell grant value. all i'm getting is 400 bucks

ohh opps I forgot to say that the 17k/ per year is about everything for a in stater. i keep assuming everyone's instate for some reason >_<

Hmm, if your Fafsa EFC is 5 digits +++ is that bad for financial aid?

Well, the higher the EFC, the more you're expected to pay, so yes. I also have a 5 digit EFC, but I know people with 4 digits and one person with 0.

I don't think it's either bad or good. Just make sure it's accurate

Way to go! 1, 300 hours? That's amazing.

Yeah, I hate the top 10% rule although it will be working in my favor. Considering your stats, it's not at all surprising you got in.
