Ap/advanced courses

At my high school the ap chemistry class is also the supa ( Syracuse university project advance) class. I have to pick whether I want the supa credits or the ap credits. Does UR accept supa credits or should I just take ap?

I don’t know if UR accepts SUPA credits. You will need to email or call the biology dept and ask. (It’s their call–not admissions.)

Dr. Benyajati heads the bio program for undergrads; his admin is Marianne Acroraci. Contact either of them for definitive answer.

One thing you should know is that if you are planning on a biology major–UR’s bio program does NOT allow any AP, IB or most other advanced standing credits for its majors. (IOW, you’ll need start over with either BIO 110 or BIO 112 regardless.)

Also if you are considering medicine as possible career, you should be aware that MOST US med schools will NOT accept AP credits (or IB or any other advanced credit programs) to fulfill pre-requisites.

ACK!! mis-read chem for bio. You will still need to contact the chem dept to see if they accept the SUPA credit.

Terri Clark is the undergrad coordinator. She can answer your questions. Phone: (585) 276-3663 EMail: clark@chem.rochester.edu

The Chem dept DOES allow AP credit for its students,
