***ap All Nighters***

Ya can someone back up what llpitch said. I was under the same impression as blue sky regarding self studied AP's. I dont think you need to report all your self study scores. Don't only report the ones you want to?

yo u r right i hav to take ap chem too and my teacher hasnt taught me anything. She is telling my class wrong information and not excepting she is wrong. i need help WHAT SHOULD I DO?

43 hrs left to AP CHEM.

HELP PLEASE!!!!

I think cramming only works if you already have a solid base of the info you have been taught in your AP class (or have been consistently working by yourself). I find it impossible for people to cram 1 year's worth of info in a week. People who can cram that much arent really cramming. They are cram-reviewing, which is VERY different from trying to cram from nil. With a solid base, cramming is good, especially when paired with a reasonable amount of sleep

/just my 2 cents

Kowloon, I think so too. I feel like cram-reviewing can be very beneficial, especially if you've had enough sleep that you're not zoned out, because what it does is turn the lights back on after they've been off for a while. It also keeps the stuff fresh in your head.

Cram-learning, however, is like trying to install the lights, circuitry and all.

I third the idea behind cram-reviewing. I've never had problems with cramming until the last minute with ideas that I'd seen and practiced before. However, starting from scratch sounds difficult. Good luck to anyone trying that.

I'm devouring as much Physics as I can before tomorrow. :

Well I'm just gonna send em my entire score report so they don't think I'm trying to hide any scores.

u ppl should get your sleep even if it means not being prepared enough..

i pulled an all nighter before my biology exam & had energy drink in the morning...during the exam i started having something like an out-of-body experience & i felt nauseous & had a huge headache

never pulled an allnighter and dont wanna start now :]

I'm going to have to disagree with everyone that opposes cram-learning. It is really a last-resort option. A lot of us haven't had the opportunity to learn all the material in a course or semester's worth of time, so cram-learning is really the only way. I did this in APUSH because we honestly did not cover about 80 years of history needed to be successful on the exam. I read the entire PR book the night before, and I felt much more confident after that...actually learning along the way. For AP Psych, cram-reviewing worked only because I was very confident with the material before going into study/review mode. But I just wanted to make the point that neither is better or worse, it just depends on your situation, though it is optimal to learn the material correctly the first time and not have to worry about studying at all.

@meili: If this was your first time pulling and all-nighter and attempting to compensate with an energy drink, then you're bound to have negative after-effect. It takes a while to get used to it. Sometimes it still feels horrible having that crap go through your system, though the little burst is sometimes worth it.

I tried pulling an all-nighter once; it was great. Every time I closed my eyes during the day, my head would reel back and I would lose consciousness for a couple of seconds at a time.
On another note, has anyone tried cycling between short durations of sleep and than studying? Like going home, sleeping from 7 pm to 10, staying awake until 4 and then sleeping until 7 or 8? I read somewhere that this is supposed to help you make the day last longer.

I've pulled a lot of all nighters on many occasions. I'm not affected too much by them anymore.

Woami, I kind of did that for this year's AP Psych test. I came home on Monday and slept from around 8PM - 1AM. From there on I just studied until 12PM of today when the test began. I took a random 15 min. nap and a one hour nap somewhere in between those times. :P I wasn't really tired during the test at all and I didn't have a hard time recalling all the crammed information either.

I just pull out a batch of red bulls again.
eeks. We all know what that means...

Haha, good luck.

Personally, I really don't like energy drinks so I never use them.

I personally drink them for the taste lol.

Monster tastes awesome. I want one right now :(

I used to like Rockstar and Monster. Not so much anymore.

i just drank 2 tonight, lol. they taste so delicious. :D

My pet peeve is that my eyes hurt like crap (contacts, no glasses) if I stay up too late.

And the fact that I'm pulling an all nighter for a non-AP test when I have another AP on Thursday

Eek. My eyes tend to water a lot when I'm really tired. I was practically crying while reading my Psych book :

I think they should find a better time to schedule AP's. It definitely sucks having to make up quizzes/tests/homework from classes while having to study for AP's on top of it all.

My ideal AP testing schedule would be to take 1-2 every weekend. I know people might not like coming to school on a weekend, but it sure is better than having to make up school work. I have to miss 6 periods, and that is so many tests and hwk :[.

Having it every weekend, would also give you more time to cram , which i truly need :D
