AP bio and honors chem junior year???

hey guys so im thinking about pursuing a degree in pharmacy in college. I really want to go to St Johns University in queens, NY. I have taken honors bio as a sophomore. I want to take honors chem and ap bio as a junior, so that I can take ap chem senior year. Do you think this is the right choice? As a junior I am also taking pre-calc honors, us history honors, orchestra, Spanish 4. I do not plan to take physics anytime. Do you think that would be okay? PS. I heard that the chem honors teacher is really tough but prepares you for the regents and ap chem. also how should I study for ap bio? thanks!!!

Take AP Bio & Chem. One AP will not hurt especially if you’ve taken the prerequisite. Your junior course load will handle this well. However, it may handle it too well. I suggest taking at least one more AP course such as history to boost your chances of getting into St Johns. Also, I highly reccomended taking some type of physics

Review some of your old notes (if you have them) for AP Bio. Go over any topics you might need clarification on. Your junior year workload is good and seems manageable; I recommend taking AP Chem and (Honors) Physics senior year.

I agree. I think you should take both AP Bio and Chemistry. At my high school, more juniors take AP Bio than seniors. It seems as if your plan is perfect. You’ll be familiar with some of the topics covered in AP Bio because you just took regular bio last year. You’ll be all set for AP Chem senior year since you’re taking regular chem this year. Physics is required in order to graduate from my high school. A lot of colleges like to see students take Bio, Chem, and Physics, so I definitely suggest that you take Physics at some point in the next 2 years. The rest of your schedule looks fine. I’d just make sure that you’re taking rigorous classes, especially during junior and senior year (a lot of APs!). I have not taken AP Bio yet (I’m taking it this year as a senior), but I have heard good things about the Barron’s book, along with Campbell’s bio textbook (which I assume will be the one you’ll use in AP Bio). Good luck!!

It’ll be stressful but you can do it. I doubled up my sophomore year and took AP bio and honors chem and I had to get rid of my study hall to do so. It was hard but I managed. You can do it but you’ll have to be very disciplined.

do you think that ap bio will be too much of a stress? I mean the teacher at my school is an “okay” teacher. You basically have to do the work on your own. Thank you guys for your answers!! really appreciate it
