AP Bio Free Reponse Grading

So my teacher tells me that you get credit in the AP bio free responses for what you get right and no penalties for what you put down that is wrong. So if the question had to do with an animal's behavior as to diurinal or nocturnal and you didn't know could you put both and get credit? Or if you didn't know the pigments absorbed by cholorphyll you could just put all the colors of the rainbow?

And does anyone know if this applies to any other exams if this is true?

No. If you were asked a specific question given two or more choices, you can only name one and still receive credit. When your teacher says that you aren’t penalized for incorrect information is when you are discussing something and in the midst of your response, you make a slip or you BS your answer slightly.

Unfortunately, it doesn’t work like that. Putting all the answers is a wrong answer, and if you write: it’s x or y or z, they’ll most likely just grab the first answer and mark it right or wrong.

You get credit for what you know. If you put two answers the contradict each other, you don’t get any credit. This isn’t multiple choice, where the reader chooses which of your answers is correct :).

However, if you have wrong information in your essay that has nothing to do with the question, that doesn’t count against you.

I think you should get a few points for creativity though. :)

Good luck tomorrow all!
