Nah i dont think we have to know much fungi, just know that its a eukaryotic type of cell. KNOW YOUR EUKARYOTES AND PROKARYOTES its a usual common theme
@RoadtotheIvies98 Thanks!
I don’t like those gel electrophoresis questions, i don’t get them
Just read through the lab manual for collegeboard, and I think there was a past free response on gel electrophoresis.
How do i score multiple choice/ frq’s from the barrons book? they don’t give me the weighting that should be used or the scale of 1-5 for my final score.
@xheki05 I had the same problem.
Last year a 5 was 92/120 which comes out to 76.66%.
4 was 72/120, which is 60%.
3 was 52/120, which is 43.33%
I only compared my multiple choice, because the Barron’s book doesn’t give free response scoring. I’d recommend doing some official past free responses by searching “free response ap biology pdf” and finding some on the CollegeBoard website. They come with scoring guides!
For multiple choice, divide the number correct by 69, then multiply by 0.5.
Free response is normally: first 2 out of 10, next 6 out of 4. Take the number of points you got correct and divide it by the total (normally 44). Then multiply by 0.5.
Add the two numbers and compare it to the percentages listed at the top.
For those asking for the 2013 and 2014 multiple choice:
Google bfarren/ap-biology. The first result will be to a teacher’s website that has the 2013 AND 2014 practice exams for download.
Hey, does anyone have an outline of approximately what percent of the exam is made up of each topic? I want to know which topics to really focus on.
Should I know the Reproductive System and Embryology for the exam? Also, for those using the 7th edition Campbell book, are Chapters 18 (Genetics of Viruses/Bacteria) and 19 (Eukaryotics Genomes) important? To be honest, my teacher never went over those chapters, and Chapter 19 confuses me so much…
The practice exam seems a lot harder than the past exams my teacher gave us in class…
Hey guys, I was wondering if watching all the Bozeman science videos is a good idea?
And I have a 92 average in AP Bio right now… Do you guys think I’ll get a 3? :-SS im so scared; all I am looking for is a 3! Haha
How important is plant physiology?
@lorax19 Plants were removed from the curriculum. I think all you need to know is: alternation of generations (gametophytes/sporophytes), basic hormones (Auxin, Cytokinins, Gibberellins, Abscisic Acid, Ethylene), and xylem/phloem transport. However I doubt any of these would show up as a FRQ and therefore you don’t need to know them in much detail.
in all of the practice tests i’ve taken, i’ve ran into maybe 1 or 2 plant problems…
Does Bozeman science help a lot?
bozeman is good if u need concept reviews plus loads of examples. crash course is a good overall review without many examples, mostly vocab and concept review.
i watched a couple of both bozeman and crash course, i ended up skipping around in the videos to the topics i needed
Ahh im so nervous for Monday. Isn’t it really easy to get a 3 but really hard to get a 4 and nearly impossible to get a 5?
with the revisions after 2011, most people make 3s while smaller percentage make 5s
