***AP Biology 2015 Thread***

@TheTennisNinja I was planning to take 5 but decided not to take APUSH because I heard the course was extremely difficult. How many APs have you taken so far?

just 1 freshman year and I’m gonna finish up the 5 that I am taking this year.

@TheTennisNinja My god, you are taking 5 this year? Idk how you can handle that. With AP Bio in my schedule this year, I’ve been struggling and you can still take 4 other APs with this course. Wow. I could’ve taken 2 if I really wanted to freshmen year but all my friends didn’t do so well on the exam last year, so I was happy I made the decision of not taking it.

It’s tough but it’s doable

@AnniiT You may reconsider taking APUSH. I took the exam on friday, and the new redesigned test is honestly a joke. All MC are context based (similar to the new bio, but much easier and fewer questions), short answers were incredibly easy, and the essays were freebies. It was only frustrating because not much that I actually studied was on the test; you could probably pass the exam without even taking the course.

@TheTennisNinja Are you trying to apply for the ivy leagues?

Yep. It would be nice to get into Dartmouth

@dimsum321 I don’t think I did so hot on the FRQs either because I barely finished and I know for a fact that I couldn’t have gotten a perfect score

@cy1999 For me, I felt that some parts of the MC tripped me up more than the FRQs

@TheTennisNinja I just feel so stupid for not putting at least random answers down on the MC instead of leaving it blank ughhh. I couldn’t really see the clock either from where I was sitting so that didn’t help and I wrote some bs for at least half of 2 FRQs

@jahnbrown I didn’t like the format of the AP Bio exam (where most of the MC was based on analyzing experiments and reading passages) and I think history is so specific at times where if you completely are lost for one of the FRQs, you’re screwed because you don’t even know where to start. Also, the teacher who teaches the course at my school makes the class extremely hard so idk if I can handle all of that.

@cy1999 Lol I’m pretty sure it’s impossible to get a perfect score. At this point, I’m just hoping that I passed.

@TheTennisNinja With the amount of APs you’re taking, I’m pretty sure you can get in. On the other hand, I’m so behind because I’m trying to get into one of the top colleges and there is so much competition.

wait when you’re stating numbers in the FRQs do you have to write it out like “two” or can you just put “2”?

@cy1999 I don’t really think it matters. This isn’t an AP English Comp exam. Because biology ties in with math, I can’t see the graders dinging you for expressing something in a math/science way when you should have done it in an English way.

I always get these weird doubts after ap exams, like what if I put the answer on the wrong MC bubble and it threw off my entire test, or I wrote the essay answer on the wrong answer paper etc… It bugs me so much and I probably didnt even mess anything up :))

@Orioson same wait omg what if i filled in all the MC in the wrong portion of the answer sheet…we were supposed to fill it out in the like pinkish portion right

what pink part?

How do you remember the colors of the answer sheet?

I’m so depressed right now :’( is there anyone else who did not finish both the mcqs and the frqs? This was my first AP and I didn’t manage my time well…so i left like 10 mcqs and 2 frqs… I’M SO WORRIED! I have an A- in AP bio class and was expecting at least a 4…now i’m not even sure if I’m gonna pass…

Also, do the grid in questions count more than the normal mcqs? No right?? Cuz i didn’t even get to the first grid in…

no same amount
