AP Biology - should I get a tutor?

I'm almost a semester into AP bio and I honestly have never known so little in a class.... I have a B in the class (my worst grade out of 6 classes, 4 of which are AP) but I honestly don't even know how I'm doing that good. I BS every test. I really want to pass the AP exam (the college I want to go to accepts 3+ to exempt you from a class) but I feel like at this rate I won't be able to.

I honestly believe a huge part of it is my teachers fault, either her lack of organization or the fact she never actually teaches (we've individually read the textbook the last few days in class) because even the valedictorian of my class, who's never gotten below an A, is struggling to understand what's going on. I've gone in to get help after school and it still just doesn't make sense to me the way she's explaining it. So should I get a tutor?

When I talked to my mom about it she thought I was joking because I've never had a tutor before, but when I began to look them up she sat me down and told me that she didn't think she'd be able to pay for it for an extensive period of time (most of the tutors I'd found were between 35-60 dollars an hour, and I'd want at least 2 hours of tutoring a week, preferably more). So we agreed that waiting til March would be a good idea money wise, so that way we can both begin to save up and put money aside for it. However would this be a poor decision? It'd still be 2 months before the AP exam, but would it not be enough time to relearn everything?

Any input and opinions would be appreciated, thanks.

That’s rough, but I totally understand that AP Biology is hard. I took it last year and if it weren’t for my teacher, I would never have been able to get an A in that class or get a 5 on the AP exam. My teacher posted A TON of study materials and powerpoints that really helped me. Go to tphs.net and go to the staff section. Click on Webpage for MaryAnn Rall and then you’ll go to her website.

Getting a tutor would be good now, but cramming everything 2 months before the AP exam is not a good idea.
