this year is my first year taking an ap class and i was just wondering what review books would be best for physics b and calc ab. also i was wondering if there was any real preparation i should be doing now in terms of studying for the ap test.

I think Princeton Review is good for both. Although the books cover material from Calc AB and BC, and Physics B and C, it presents the information well and has a lot of problems to work on. For calculus, make sure you know trig and algebra well. For physics, there isn't much to do.
