AP Calc or no?

Hi I’m a CC newbie but I there is one issue in my senior year schedule that has been bothering me and making me nervous for the past week.

First of all, I should say that I am going into my senior year. I am a liberal arts kind of person. I like English and music, and want to study both in college. I go to a performing arts school in new york city which is incredibly demanding in both arts classes and academic classes.
In my junior year, I took AlgII/Trigonometry for my math class. This was in a normal progression, considering I took Alg I in freshman year and Geometry in sophomore year. For my senior year, I was planning to go on to regular precalc/calc

When I got my schedule this past week, I see that they have me signed up for AP Calculus AB. I am already taking two AP classes that I WANT to take (Environmental and Literature) as well as being in the opera program and the most advanced choir.

I’m doubting myself a lot right now because I don’t know if I’ll be able to handle jumping to AP Calc from regular trig. I excelled in Alg II and did alright in Trig. I passed the class with a 98 or a 99 (can’t remember). I’m okay at math when I really understand the concepts but it takes time. The AP class teacher is a good teacher, but I’m just concerned that with everything else going on in the fall of my senior year, one math AP class is gonna drag me down.

Does anyone have any advice, or words of comfort even? Should I beg my guidance counselor to put me in regular calculus or suck it up and take a class that might make my 4.0 GPA plummet? This is really a big issue for me, even though it might seem silly and may seem like I’m complaining. I am just getting nervous about college loooooming ahead…

Oh, and colleges I am looking at are Bates, Smith, Bryn Mawr, Bard, and a bunch of SUNYs.
