I've only taken general chemistry two years ago, and now I'm planning to take AP chemistry. I'm self studying only using Barron's book. So far, I'm totally getting my butt kicked. I have trouble understanding many of the concepts and even more trouble retaining the information. I hear that Barrons tends to overcomplicate things and is actually more difficult than the real AP test. Would I have a better time studying if I get a different book? If so, please recommend me some good ones to get. BTW, my goal is to get a 4, if that means anything.

Yeah at this point stop reading Barrons. It will fog your mind

I read the barron's ap chem book cover to cover the night before the exam last year. I got a 4.
