Calculate the molar solubility of Co(OH)3, Ksp = 2.5 * 10^ -43

the answer is 2.5*10^-22

But can someone explain how...

Calculate the molar solubility of Co(OH)3, Ksp = 2.5 * 10^ -43

the answer is 2.5*10^-22

But can someone explain how...

Where are you getting that answer from? According to that Ksp, it is not the right answer.

The reaction here is Co(OH)3 --> Co(3+) + 3OH-

If we set moles of cobalt (III) hydroxide equal to "x", then our Ksp equation is:

2.510^-43 = (x)(3x)^3, or 2.510^-43 = 27x^4

Solving for "x" we get 9.81*10^-12 mol/L.
