AP Chinese Prep Books

Hi, I was wondering if there were any AP Chinese prep books out there? My situation is that my family is Chinese but we mostly speak English at home. I know how to speak and listen to Chinese pretty well but struggle with the writing and reading.

Are there any good prep books out there?

I think there was one that just came out; when i googled it last year there were none yet available by the major prep book companies. I believe its by barrons? Try searching for one on amazon

I found one, it just came out last month, the name of the book is AP Chinese Language & Culture - Simulated Tests, ISBN:9781616170011, or you can check this link:
[AP Chinese Language & Culture - Simulated Tests - Nan Hai Company, Inc. (U.S.A.) - One Stop Chinese Language Learning](http://www.nanhai.com/materials/language-learning/test-preparation/ap-chinese-language-and-culture-simulated-tests.html)

Also you can try this one:

[Amazon.com: Harvest:Intermediate Chinese Textbook(for AP Chinese) (9789814253062): Xu Jialu, Chen Fu, Wang Ruojiang, zhuruiping, Zhu Ruiping, Hai Bo, AP Chinese Language and Culture: Books](http://www.amazon.com/Harvest-Intermediate-Chinese-Textbook-AP/dp/9814253065/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1257970885&sr=1-3)

that is a good one, there is a cheaper one on the following site:

[Harvest - AP Chinese - Nan Hai Company, Inc. (U.S.A.) - One Stop Chinese Language Learning](http://www.nanhai.com/materials/language-learning/test-preparation/harvest.html)

I recommend reading non-prep books too. It makes everything seem easier.

This book has just come out:
“Strive for a 5: AP Chinese Practice Tests” by Cheng & Tsui Company.
[Cheng & Tsui’s Strive for a 5 AP* Chinese Practice Tests | Chinese | Language Learning | Supplements | Cheng & Tsui](http://www.cheng-tsui.com/store/products/cheng_tsuis_strive_5_ap_chinese_practice_tests)

It has 8 full length practice tests. And the intro has a lot of info about the AP Chinese test environment and tips.

I like Barron’s a lot too, especially if you study on your own without a textbook or a class. But it is best too use both, because Barron’s only has two full length tests. Plus, if you already have a very good textbook with workbook like Integrated Chinese or Chinese Link, then it is better to get this “Strive for a 5” book.

Hi conbrio, Thank you for the info about this “Strive for a 5: AP Chinese Practice Tests by Cheng & Tsui Company” book. However, does this book present questions in both traditional and simplified Chinese characters? Thank you so much. MW
