I was wondering if anyone knew of any good online AP Comparative Government courses, my school doesn’t offer it but it really fits with what I like/want to major in. I am willing to self study, but would really prefer an online course.
Thanks!
Depending on what state you’re in, your state may offer free but accredited online courses that will go into your GPA. For example, Florida students can take as many online courses through FLVS for free and with credit, so definitely research if your state has one if that’s an option.
If your school doesn’t offer the class, they may have a partnership with an online class provider where the class will be paid for by the school, which would allow you to take it for free as well. Ask your GC if this is an option for you but I think most schools don’t do it.
I know you want an AP class but dual enrollment at a community college could also be an option. You could take it online or actually at the college and most community colleges allow high school students to enroll without paying tuition.
The last option would be to use other providers but they can be quite pricey. FLVS is great from what I’ve heard but expensive for non-FL residents. Some universities also offer it such as JHU’s CTY, Northwestern CTD, Apex, Virtual High Schcool, and several more that you can research. I took one through CTD ask let me know if you have any questions about online classes in general or the CTD program.
Check with the other three options first though, because this way you won’t have to pay a ton of money.
