AP Courses Junior Year

I am currently a high school sophomore and I’m currently choosing courses for my junior year. I’ve been in all honors courses (whenever my school offered one) and so far I’m doing well.
I really wanted to take ap chemistry, but due to the fact that the teacher who teaches it hates me I thought that it may not be my best option. I decided to take ap biology instead. In addition to ap biology I plan on taking apush, and honors courses (my school doesn’t allow juniors to take more than 2 ap’s). Due to my situation with the ap chem teacher my principal is allowing me to take an online course in addition to my regular classes. The 3 main options I have are: ap environmental science, ap statistics and advanced topics in chemistry. I’m really not sure which one I should take! In general, I’m good at math, but I haven’t done much statistics. I really enjoy chemistry, but I find my current honors chemistry course challenging. Also, I often struggle when I try memorizing things, but I learn and remember them easily.
I was just wondering what you thought would be a good course for me to take?

What interests you? What do you want to major in? They’re all solid options. Without further background, no one can really answer that.

If your current chemistry course is challenging you may not want to take a more advanced class online. The other two options are known to be among the easier AP classes so take whichever interests you more.

Do you know what you want to study in college? If you’re planning on doing a more science-based major, colleges like seeing as much science as possible like chem or enviro. Now, I am in AP Chem right now and it is true that it’s much harder than AP Bio. No matter what, chem is always a challenge so if you’re willing to put in the work, I would do it. enviro is known to be much easier so it really comes down to how much you feel like you can handle while still being successful. Keep in mind you still have one more year if you really would like to take more than just one of three!

In general, I plan on going into a more math/science based career path. But, I do happen to really enjoy English and history courses, so I want to incorporate some of those things in a career. In the end I really have very little idea of what major I will choose.

It honestly doesn’t matter then. I’d take the one that sounds most interesting. My son is an engineer and took all the science and math he could. He still worked in AP Lit and AP Art History during his senior year.

Which 5 core classes would you take?

Pre calculus, ap bio, apush, English 3, spanish,

Okay, I’d say either APES or AP Stats. Those are relatively “light” APs, so for your first encounter with AP classes it wouldn’t be overwhelming and either one would be a nice, rigorous science elective.
