I’m thinking of taking AP Micro and Macro on FLVS. This is my first time taking an online course, so I’m just wondering about how the module tests and exams are taken. I live in Canada and can’t travel to Florida to take them. Would I need to get a test moderator or are they completely online? Could anyone who has taken AP Econ on FLVS (or any course) please comment! Thanks so much!!
Hey! Probably a bit too late to answer your question, but for anyone else who may want to know who isn’t very familiar with FLVS:
The exams are taken within the course online–they are always password protected, so you can only obtain the password after you’ve completed the DBA (Discussion-Based Assessment) in which you demonstrate to your teacher over the phone you are comfortable with the material in the module. Most exams aren’t timed, and I’ve never had a test moderator, but sometimes (as they say), you may have a proctor just to ensure kids aren’t cheating, but it’s pretty rare I think. I took AP Micro, and I did pretty well in the class. Remember, you are allowed to use your notes in almost all classes on exams UNLESS otherwise noted, so it’s really awesome to take good notes in the course, exhaust all of the resources and Module Exam practice FLVS provides (their AP resources are especially good) before you decide to take the exam. I’ve learned from past mistakes to always be prepared and have very good knowledge about the module material, or else you’ll wind up taking longer than you’re really supposed to trying to wrack your brain in order to pass. Just because it’s open notes doesn’t mean you’ll be able to do well. Hope this answers your question, and anyone else’s!
