Can someone explain Columbia's AP Credit policy? It's really hazy wherever it's outlined. I think they don't take credit for core classes but for others? Huh? Congrats to all ED 2016ers and can't wait to meet you all!

Each department has their own regulations for what they’ll take. Depending on your major, some may place you out of classes or give you credit, and some may not. (For example, the Statistics AP will not place you out of the statistics class required for the Economics major) See [Programs of Study | Columbia College](<a href=“Columbia College Bulletin < Columbia College | Columbia University”>Columbia College Bulletin < Columbia College | Columbia University) and the department pages [Departments of Instruction | Columbia College](<a href=“Columbia College Bulletin < Columbia College | Columbia University”>Columbia College Bulletin < Columbia College | Columbia University)

And yeah, everyone has to take the Core, so nothing’s happening there.
