AU has a list of credits per particular classes that suggest they are waived with appropriate AP Exam credit as reported by the CollegeBoard, but does that decrease tuition?

Short answer: No. If you’re enrolled in a full-time course load of equal to or more than 12 credits, why would it decrease your tuition? No matter how many credits you enter college with, you will pay the exact same amount of money.

If you have accepted AP credits when you enter as a freshman, they will be added onto your transcript and you will be exempt from taking a certain number of courses (there is a list for this on AU’s website). In place of those classes you are exempt from, you’ll probably take other courses to get ahead. Some people who have lots of AP credits end up graduating a semester or a year early which can offset the price of your education in the longer term.

Yes, having many AP credits can help you graduate early, which will save you money. But, no - you will still pay full tuition for each semester. My D could have graduated in 3 years because of AP credits, but she chose to add a double degree.
