AP ENG LANG. MC tricks

what are your tips or tricks for the AP english language MC portion that will help people nab a few extra points? Do you read some sections faster or slower? do you even read the passages? do you annotate it? What are your tips/tricks?

I read the passage first, but if I zone out multiple times during a passage or find my understanding of it limited, I read the questions and try and search for the answers in the passage without completely finishing my reading. I always cross out answers I’ve eliminated, but I don’t know if it helps me. I mostly do it out of habit. I don’t actually annotate the passage (takes too much time) but I do circle or underline things in my reading that I feel stand out as something they’ll ask about.
Some people I know also read the questions before they read the actual passage, but my methods work well enough for me that I don’t change them.

Skim through the questions first. Often, many questions will ask something about how words contribute to what. For example, one question may ask how something may contribute to the seriousness of the passage or the comedic effect of a passage. Others may ask “in lines ___ to ___.”

What you CAN do is scribble–yes, scribble, no fancy handwriting just SCRIBBLE–seriousness or comedy in the margins of the passage and make a bracket that marks the lines so that you know what to look for faster, just to exemplify.

if you eliminated down to two, choose the most specific one
