It was about writing the relationship about her “complex family memories” and music
@bluejeans22
Were those the exact and explicit directions? I could have sworn I saw, “analyze the complex relationship between the speaker and music.”
@Lospitarrrre
As I remember them lol. I remember exactly the words I quoted above, maybe I’m wrong but I don’t think so. If it matters I was reading tweets and some people were saying the same as I. It wlll be released soon, don’t stress lol.
Come to think of it, I think @bluejeans22 is right. I certainly know the family is involved in the prompt - it’s not merely “analyze the complex relationship between the speaker and music.” But @Lospitarrrre if your analysis is solid and your writing quality is good, you can still probably get at least an acceptable score. And this is only part of the test anyway; it won’t make or break your score.
I also remember the word memories being part of the prompt. Nearly verbatim what @bluejeans22 said
I had a hard time with the poetry analysis section.
The poetry prompt definitely said something about the relationship between music and complex memories of family, or something like that. Memory was definitely in the prompt, as was family.
Just FYI, the College Board website has posted the prompts. Yep, the exact directions are “write a well-organized essay in which you analyse the relationship between music and the speaker’s complex memories of her family.”
Yup, saw it. How screwed am I
Is there an AP Lang thread this year?
