Also self studying, so PR is the way to go?

Yes, it is.

When you are guys starting?

I’m using: [Amazon.com: Environmental Science: Earth as a Living Planet (9780470118559): Daniel B. Botkin, Edward A. Keller: Books](http://www.amazon.com/Environmental-Science-Earth-Living-Planet/dp/0470118555/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1281748620&sr=8-1)

I think I am going to read like 2 chapters a week and then just read a review book and take the practice tests.

I read in http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/ap-tests-preparation/369861-self-studying-aps-improving-your-app-2.html?highlight=environmental+science+books that SmartyPants was enough… I’ll order and read through that, and then compare with my classmates at school that’re actually taking the class.

Want to finish reading around March, and work with quizzing w/ my buddies in April.

Is anybody going to use 5 steps to a 5? Any info on it?

I’m probably gonna do this class on FLVS…which means BS the work then self study :)

What method of farming would you choose to employ on a gradual slope with threat of natural erosion?

I’d say contour plowing, but if it is a particularly steep slope, I’d do strip farming.

By the way, does anyone think it right that my (horrible) APES teacher plans on giving us an AP Exam for our final, and not curving it? That seems overkill.

Sorry to invade your guys’ thread :)

Will APES be an easy class to take if I’ve already taken AP Biology and AP Chemistry?

I’d assume so.

^^APES will be a breeze.

^^^Hmmm that does sound a little unfair. I think what he should do is give you an A on the test if you get a 5 on the released exam, a B for a 4, a C for a 3, and so on.

Does any one have the released APES tests from 2003 or 2008?
I am in the same situation as ATastyBurger. My teacher is totally unfair and a jerk, we have no curve and the finals are coming up real soon (too soon to be honest). All she said was that it was going to be one of the past released APES test. Now I do not trust her, she is probably lying to trick us so we can all fail (trust me she actually that evil) But I want to prepare anyways just to be safe. I am on the borderline I have an 89 and I really need to get an A. So if any one has the released test can you please PM me i will PM back you my email.

Thanks A Lot

Wow, some people have some really bad teachers.
Definitely. I’ve been suggesting to anyone who asks me to actually take APES before taking any other AP science, since it’s the easiest one. If you can’t do well in it, you shouldn’t take AP Bio, Chem, or Physics. If you can do well in AP bio and chem, you can do well in APES.

I’m self studying APES with AP Bio, and I have taking a regular chemistry class.

We use the Ravenberg book in class. But to be honest I think we all have to self study for the AP exam if we expect to pass. We have princeton review for APES. This is our teacher’s first time teaching an AP class. I feel like I am in an honors class rather than AP.

Yeah I’ve got PR and I’m liking it so far

Anyone have the released 2003 or 2008 exams?

Please send them to me at the-lord-of-light@hotmail.com

I’d be happy to send you the answers I just need the test.

does is it look bad to self-study vs. taking the actual class? i’m trying to decide between ap enviro for my senior year or another advanced/ap science. do most schools even take a 4 or 5 on the enviro exam for credit? i’m just trying to get an idea of what other people are doing…
also, has anyone taken ap stat? and if so, is it very difficult? trying to decide between that and regular calculus (not much of a math person)

AP stat is one of the easiest math classes–and at most schools–its easier than PreCalc.
If you plan on taking a real major I doubt you’ll have to take an Environmental Science course… everyone just does it for easy As/that one more AP
