AP Euro discussion

The MC was about like I was expecting, maybe a little more challenging… I’m sure I got about 65/80

The DBQ was very kind, but the first set of FRQs… ugh. I couldn’t decide which one to pick, so I went and wrote #7 (which seemed hard to keep true to the prompt… I couldn’t think of many ways they “challenged” per se, more just changed…). I went with #2. Was afraid I wrote about the wrong country, but a quick post-test glance at PR soothed my worries =P

I had about 3.5 pages for the DBQ and 2.5 for the FRQs… that should be okay

Jeezus, you guys write a frickin lot on these essays!
I could never write 5 pages on a DBQ and more than 2 on an FRQ. Maybe because my handwriting is smaller and more compressed.

My number 7 was possibly the worst essay I have ever written in my life. Had a brain fart. Couldn’t remember anything.
I agree with you SmallCollegesFTW. FRQs 4-7 owned me and I could remember details for my life.

Number 2 was a piece of cake. I almost yelped in joy when I saw it!

The DBQ was straightforward, anyone agree? And yes, outside info can get you extra points. I put at least two pieces of outside info in mine.

Some of the MC questions were ridiculous! Too specific, and just on stuff we never covered in class.

I can’t wait until we can discuss this for realssss.

I chose FRQs 2 & 7. On the first set, it was evident that I was screwed. I’m assuming that’s because I don’t like learning about the East, and I’m still baffled as to why they did not vary the subject matter on this FRQ, but I suppose that’s the way it is.

I have to say FRQ #7 was easy, but I had trouble writing after the first 2 hours of failing the test.

I just realized I completely misinterpreted a document and also had a mistake on 1 of my essays. I really wanted a five but I’m thinking I’m going to get at best a 4 now. I thought the mc were difficult. I skipped 8 and know I got at least 6 wrong already.

@Jakesonaplane - It doesn’t matter how great everything else is, you need an awesome thesis statement in your DBQ or you can only get a 5 out of 9 MAXIMUM. Here’s how it works: there’s six core points (using a majority of documents, strong thesis, at least 3 instances of analyzing POV/BIAS, using documents correctly, grouping documents, and answering all parts of the question). Each of these things is worth 1 point. If you do each of them, THEN and ONLY THEN can you get the expanded core points, which are extra points for analyzing each document even more. But if you didn’t make a good thesis, you can’t possibly get the 7, 8, or 9 because you need to get all six points. So you can only get a 5. I’m sorry

@UVAhopeful - you can still get a good grade if you only misinterpreted 1 document! And 1 mistake on your essay? don’t be too hard on yourself. I bet you did great.

Multiple choice was easy, the especially the beginning, with social events and interpreting graphs. DBQ - Easy. FRQ I did #4 and #6. Nobody I knew did #4, though

I had 4 pages for DBQ and 2 for each FRQ, and I have big handwriting too so I didn’t even write that much…now i’m getting worried…

Thanks for the encouraging comments numsquat. I’ll be able to explain how I screwed up tomorrow. The error on the essay was minor but the DBQ’s was a lot worse in my opinion. I’m just hoping that was my only mistake because you’re only allowed to have one to fulfill the core requirements and I obviously hope to go into the expanded core. The DBQ’s sources were very nice though. They led to easy POVs and outside information. Hopefully I put enough of those in to outweigh my mistake.

I wrote 3 pages for the DBQ but my handwriting is smaller than average. I also did 3 pages for FRQ2 and 2 pages for FRQ7. I’m pretty sure my FRQ2 was at least an 8.

It actually wasn’t as bad as I expected. I thought I was gonna die because I really didn’t study very much even though I had a lot of time THursday night…I just ended up slacking off. This whole week stressed me out and I needed my sleep hahahh. Got a good 10 hours though!

I wrote…oh god, about 5 pages on the DBQ. But then again, I have HUGE handwriting. And 2 pages for #4…3 pages for #7.
Haha…I sucked at the FRQ. I only studied until like Napoleon the night before and I didn’t really remember anything well enough to write a really good essay. #4 and #7 were the only things that I actually studied Friday morning…

I didn’t know much about #2 or #3…and I wish I did #6…but I don’t think I would’ve done that well on it either. I actually felt pretty good about #7. I just hope I didn’t get any of the facts wrong.

does anyone know if that score generator is accurate??

it doesn’t seem right, i put in like 30 wrong and 5s on all essays and its still a 4.

Multiple choice was far easier than I expected. It is really helpful taking AP Art History concurrently because there were a couple art questions. DBQ was much much easier than I expected. It was easy to group, loads of bias, and I got in some outside historical information. FRQ4 I solidly knew half the prompt and BSed the second half. FRQ7 I knew some random facts but my essay wasn’t solidly developed becaused I missed a VERY VERY key point. I’m assuming 50 multiple choice right, 25 wrong. 8 on my DBQ, 6 on 1st FRQ and a 4 or 5 on my second. That’s a 4 which is pretty good I think.

IMO, multiple choice was verry easy, it think its a good chance i got 60+.

DBQ- i think i owned this, i used a majority of docs, had POV in at least 3 of the docs, had a strong thesis, a very well structured essay, and adequate and relevant outside info. overall, 4-5 pages
probably a 7 or 8 here.

FRQ #7= i pwned this one too, i had tons of info and it all linked to my thesis perfectly. also, it answered the question in every aspect. around 3-4 pages (normal handwriting). prolly an 8/9 here.

FRQ #3= i didnt completely own this one since i didnt know THAT much on the topic, but i was still able to come up with something relevant and showed some outside knowledge along with a good thesis and structured essay. prolly a 5/6.

OVerall, if im not mistaken, this is a 5, and i will be VERY dissappointed if i get anything less.

Dam I was pretty happy with how easy the MC was and the DBQ was a subject witch I had good knowledge. But for the FRQ I think I’m screwed because first I gave completely wrong names for both 4 and 6 and second I think I said some exact phrases from the book I studied which may be a good thing because they will think its my idea.

I didn’t learn a thing in my Euro class. Never bothered to study for the exam either since I am a senior and I will only get unassigned units for it at UCLA.

In any case, the dbq was easy and wrote a perfect essay #7 from what I learned in my other classes. I have to say #7 was a pleasant surprise and DBQ was so easy to write on. The 2nd essay (essay #2) was blahh though.

MC was way easier than I expected although I probably did not do that well anyways. I went in the exam expecting to fail MC and I was able to answer many questions by just logic and from what I learned in AP World 2 years ago.

For that poem… it was not pragmatism. It’s romanticism. There’s not even a question, it was all about being a part of nature. Simple.

Numsquat -

Sorry, I forgot to clarify; I was talking about the FRQ. I understand the grading for the DBQ, and I totally owned! I’m almost sure I got all of the core + all of the expanded core (I used every document, had 4 POV, 4 categories, background info). It’s the FRQs I am freaking out about… one of them I had an excellent thesis but BS’d most of the evidence and the other had great evidence but lacked organization or a real thesis (I wrote it in 12 minutes; didn’t manage my time well)… should I be worried? :/

For that poem… it was not pragmatism. It’s romanticism. There’s not even a question, it was all about being a part of nature. Simple.

That’s exactly what I was thinking.
Um I don’t think we should be discussing MC questions yet. So maybe delete that?

You can never talk about the MCQ’s. At least not on an internet forum where everyone can see haha.

Definitely got a 4 or 5 on euro! By the way, did anyone else notice that one of the FRQs gave information about the Enlightenment that could be used to answer FRQ choice #7?

No it didn’t. How so? (It’s after midnight, can we talk about it? Or do we have to wait until 12 p.m.?)

i wouldnt risk it.

i did essays 4 and 6. for 4 i knew lots about the social era it asked us to talk about, but not as much about the people. probably 6/7

6 was a masterpiece. 7/8/9.

AND THE DBQ WAS AMAZING! my outside info included the homosexuality of one of the authors, which, while not relevant, was pretty juicy if i must say. i should get a nine for that alone.

probably a 4 or 5, im just glad its over! i literally slept 14 hours that night (it was my first ap test, what an aftershock lol!)
