Hi,
I've heard that Modern European History by Vault is good. I tried to read it but it seems like an endless list of facts to memorize. What's a good prep book...Barron's? Princeton Review seems less detailed than Barron's. AP Euro seems a lot harder than World (I'm self-studying). Any advice would be helpful!

I read each chapter in the textbook twice as we went along (except for the last few chapters which are less important). I'm not sure you need a prep book if you just read and learn the material in your book.

The textbook should be your primary resource, but Barron's is a very good review book, especially if you run out of time to read the later chapters in the textbook.

Modern European History was recommended to my kiddo. This is her first AP (sophomore) and she says that, although she loves the teacher, she tends to get a bit...off topic. (It's only the second week of school, however.) Should a student start reading a secondary (like Modern EH) along w/the text at this point in the year, or wait a bit to see how the class is sorting out?

i think teacher is the most important factor...
our AP euro teacher teaches almost NOTHING....
and last year there was like 4 people taking it out of 50 people
and only one person got a 5
WOW....

Yikes, Kyo***! I don't know this teacher's "statistics" (i.e. former students who have or have not done well on the test...but by kiddo is starting to think she's pretty much on her own for prep...) Anybody got good suggestions for some resources to supplement the teaching...and a best timeline on when to start (i.e. if you had better success with ongoing supplemental reading, etc or a bigger review later in the year)?
