AP Exam Prep

5 to 5, Princeton Review, Barrons - what have you used for AP Macro? AP Calcl BC?

If your course is of good quality, and you do well in it, you should do well on the AP exam without needing to cram for it.

Cram ≠ Prep. Schools (and teachers) vary on how much class time is given to actual exam prep. There are some exams which, IMO, you can’t cram or prep with a book; you either know it or you don’t.

That said, I can’t help with calc, since I just used my own notes and text for review, but for Econ, I also used Princeton Review. Although I’m unconvinced one prep book is any better than another. Good luck.

The textbook you use for class can also be helpful, although it may lack practice AP tests (which are really beneficial). A lot of prep is refreshing on the material that you may have forgotten, especially material from earlier in the year. All the material you covered in class should be covered in the textbook.

It is helpful to look at the table of contents, identify the chapters and sections that seem hazy, reread those chapters, take an official practice test, see what topics you need to work on, read up on those topics, take another practice test, etc.

Books are still somewhat useful, if you want to review and you have the money to spend. For Calc BC, Barron’s is very in-depth and has hundreds and hundreds of practice problems. Do a few and you will feel a lot better.

Just be weary, the problems are a lot harder than the actual exam.
