AP exam scores in admission decisions

Hi.

So...I'm currently a highschool senior planning to apply to MIT. I have relatively decent tests scores (2150 SAT, 32 ACT). I do about 8 different extracurricular activities, half of which i hold a leadership position. I started a e-commerce in my parent's garage with a few of my friends and we are still running it, and I do research work at a local university. I have never gotten below an -A in any of my classes, and I'm currently taking 7 AP classes. I believe I have an exemplary record except for my AP exam scores. I took the Government exam and got a 3 and I took the AP language and composition exam and got 4. I am concerned as to how these exam scores will affect the admission counselor's decision. Does anyone have any insight on how much emphasis is put on test scores when it comes to admissions decisions, especially for MIT? Also, if you were looking at my record, what would you consider my chances are?

Not an expert, but from what I’ve seen, you should be fine. If the rest of your application is as impressive as you’ve said, a few bad AP scores won’t break you.

So, have you just taken 2 AP Tests, so far?

yeah, I only took ap classes last year. My school required a lot of prerequisites for AP classes, so I ended up taking all the AP classes this year.

I’m also wondering a similar thing.
