Here is the distribution direct from Trevor Packer- 2012 AP French results (for STANDARD group, i.e. non-heritage students): 12.7%=5; 25.5%=4; 35.5%=3; 20.3%=2; 6.0%=1.

Are heritage and non-heritage speakers graded differently? If so, is there a way I can contact Collegeboard to correct my marking myself as a heritage speaker?

2012 AP French TOTAL GROUP results: 18.2%=5; 26.4%=4; 32.7%=3; 17.5%=2; 5.2%=1.

@Ammazz- no need to worry! Your score won’t be affected. Collegeboard only uses that data for comparative studies.

To add to the above distribution for total etc- only about 25% of French students are native speakers compared to other exams of upwards of 80%.

Hey guys! If you don’t mind my asking (again), for those who already got their phoned in scores, how would you compare what your expected score was to what your actual score is?

Hi Ammazz,

I was definitely expecting a 3, or a possible 4, but I was pleasantly surprised to learn that I got a 5. Go figure.

my teacher told me she thought i would get a 3, i hoped i would get a 4, and I ended up with a 5!

^These two posts alleviated some stress the past few days, but just found out I got a 5! Totally expected a 3-4!

I only took the test for fun, and I didn’t put a ton of effort into it, so I’m glad I got a 5!

Got a 5 even though I completely screwed up the speaking. And the argumentative essay. And the MC. The only part of that test I really felt good about was the email.

I was expecting a 3 and hoping for a 4, so a 5 is a really nice surprise!

Same! I felt good about my speaking and email, and the MC was alright. But, I bs’ed my essay because I didn’t understand the audio, so I was totally expecting a high 3 or low 4. . . BUT I GOT A 5!!!
The curve must have been lenient because of the new format! My teacher kept telling me I would get a 3
