AP Human Geography- What is the best way to self study?

I am a freshman looking to self study for the AP Human Geography exam. What are the best ways to self study? How long does it take to self study? I have heard that Barrons is the best study method, is that true? Your feedback is appreciated.

I took the test and got a freaking 3. I had a AP Teacher but he wasn’t really that great.Best way to study is buying the Princeton Review, I wouldn’t really say Barrons is better since Princeton is more for AP exams and Barrons is more for SAT Subject Exams in my opinion. Princeton is best, I didn’t use either Barrons or Princeton Review I used the crappy REA Book D:. That was probably why I got a 3 since all the definitions on there were terrible. But yes Princeton is best for self-studying and getting a good score on the AP Human Geography exam. Good luck the test is fairly easy but I wanted a 5 yet I got a 3. BIGGEST TIP: WRITE IN COMPLETE SENTENCES FOR YOU FRQ’S!!! Remember to study for your FRQ’s as well, since those matter A LOT!

Thanks for the feedback! I’ll take this all into account.

I used the Barron’s book and found it very useful. My teacher wasn’t that great so I learned most of the info on my own and got a 5. I just read the units in Barron’s while we were covering them in class, and then I reviewed it carefully starting in March and took the practice tests in late April and early May.

Yeah I got Barrons, is it really a definition exam?

Also, is Barrons enough or would I need to do more in order to get ready?

50% of the exam is definitions. But you must also know why, how, and what happened for almost everything in the course through your studying. Barrons is also good, but I recommend Princeton though; Barrons is good if you have quite the time to study but Princeton is as effective in a shorter amount of time. You do not really need anything else to get ready other than online practice FRQ’s which are online in college board’s website and your AP Human Geo teacher. (if you have one, but that’s fine if you don’t)

The test is:
50% Logical Thinking [Some others say this “Logical Thinking” is common sense, but if it was so “common” how come the average test score is a 2.8 on the exam?]
50% on Vocabulary <— Barrons is really good at this.

REMEMBER FRQ’S ARE SUPER IMPORTANT, I WOULD SAY TO DO ALL THE PRACTICE FRQ’S YOU CAN FIND!

I don’t know if I would say it is just defitions, but it will give you an example of something and then ask you what that is. Those questios were a large part of the test.

Thanks for feedback
