Which review books REALLY help on the exams for AP lang and AP chem? Are review books worth the money? Or should I just look up all of the old exams online and do those?

The review books are good ways of reviewing course content that you may have forgotten as the year goes on. I personally did not use any review books much because we had a lot of in-class review before the test for Chemistry, but from what I’ve heard Princeton Review and Barron’s are the best choices for AP.

I have used Barron’s for Math 2 SAT and personally I thought it was excellent, so if I had to recommend one it would be Barron’s.

I did not take AP lang, but I would recommend likewise for that test.

AP Lang is kind of hard to review for. You really just need to do tons and tons of practice essays from collegeboard. I also think there’s one released test on collegeboard that contains mc questions. For me, all I did was do practice essays in class and on my own time and reviewed rhetorical devices and I thought the test went pretty well!

My son thought the actual AP English Language test was different than the review books. The review books focused a lot on terms, but the AP exam did not.

The short answer on review books is if you have the money, they are worth it. If a $30 book is too much for your family, I daresay that the college of your dreams might be out of your reach too.
