***AP Physics 1 Thread 2014-2015***

Nope. I remember reading that you’re not supposed to have rulers, protractors, and such. Only pencils, pen, calculator, ID

You can bring a ruler it is allowed however you probably won’t need it but bring in anyways. The worst they’ll do is tell you to put it away.

@samdaman1013 I believe we just list the steps in our procedure.

(I could be entirely wrong though. I’ve only taken one of those and even then I had no idea what I was doing)

Can we go over each multiple choice question and give an explanation why that’s the answer?

@glasshours Can you provide explanations?

@rdeng2614 - 90% of the questions are conceptual, unfortunately :frowning: Kind of makes me wish I took AP B last year instead, sigh

I went over that practice test at least 3 times and I’m almost done reading the entire course description, so if anyone needs help with anything, I can try

Key Topics to review tonight?

Yes you’re supposed to bring a straightedge or ruler. It says on the AP Booklet thing.

Is there anyone that has the CollegeBoard Practice exam that can PM it to me? I’d love you forever

ugh i really wish my teacher gave us that practice test… normally he’s so good about things like that! i even asked and he handed me the 25 MC from college board that anyone can see and I’ve already don and said here ya go

only thing i really dont understand is the fundamental frequency things about open/closed pipe

alright never mind my b, anyone have the answers to the official college board MC? don’t need questions just the answers 1-50

I’m actually kind of excited for this exam. I hated AP Chem so much, I procrastinated studying for that exam by studying for this one. :stuck_out_tongue: Too bad I probably ended up getting a 1 on that…crossing my fingers that I’ll actually get a 5 on this.

Hey guys I have an idea!

Lets all post a sentence or 2 of useful information that is simple and easy to remember, that way we can help each other remember the simple facts at least.

  1. Positive work is when something is speeding up
  2. Positive work - component of force is in the same direction

@theboss262 oh thanks! makes sense now.

Does anyone have the answer key for the practice mc?
let’s pray that tomorrow’s test is similar/not as hard.

I’m just really confused on how to answer the free response questions. Like for some of them, how to calculate velocity, the default answer was: Use a motion sensor/detector. Any tips/advice on how to answer those, they’re probably the hardest parts of the exam.

Add on!

  1. Positive work is when something is speeding up
  2. Positive work - component of force is in the same direction
  3. Closed pipe - odd harmonics only, wavelength must be a multiple of 1/4 of the length of the tube
  4. Open pipe - all harmonics, wavelength must be a multiple of 1/2 of the length of the tube

I will draw a force diagram of my foot going up the proctors @$%

@glasshours what page does the course description start at? and i need little help with #1 on the practice test

can someone explain open/closed pipes and fundamental frequency plzz

I have the answers to the MC, that my teacher went over with me today:
I hope I didn’t type anything wrong.

edit: Is the link working?
edit 2: it’s not (for me), so here: I hope it doesn’t get removed and that I didn’t type anything wrong
