***AP Physics 1 Thread 2014-2015***

@akgtdoskce Most important thing you need to know: if there are no external forces acting outside the system, the center of mass velocity will remain constant.

Here’s a brief overview on center of mass and its velocity

Not gonna lie didn’t wanna share this because I want the scores to stay low… But college confidential has been my second family and seeing everyone help each other out like this is just truly great. Most of you may already know this so idk but http://www.flippingphysics.com/ap1-rotational-dynamics-review.html really hood review site for all topics on ap physics test 2 hours long so if you’re cramming go man go

Good* LOL hood lololol

Wait how many mc questions do you need to get right for a 5? I’ve been doing practice tests and panicking because I am missing quite a few questions.

@twzelle Probably like 65% will be on track for a 5, but no one knows for sure.

Anyone know how well Princeton Review’s AP Physics 1 is working for them? Did it contain pretty much everything that you learned in class?

I’m self-studying and using it at the moment (currently on electric forces/fields because I procrastinated lol), and I’m getting worried that it isn’t covering absolutely everything that I need to know for the exam.

Generally I’ve been getting basically all the questions that I’ve tried, though, in the review book; hopefully that sticks with me for the AP. Also, hopefully the curve is nice and people with 5s go up instead of down like it did with Chem and Bio.

@Latios Tbh I didn’t find princeton review very helpful… I switched to Barron’s AP physics 1 and 2 and it’s so helpful. The main problem with PR is that it has way too much saturated information, it doesn’t do a good job of summarizing like it’s a good book if you’re starting out the year with it, but if you’re cramming LOL barron’s is bae

Furthermore, if you guys are starting to cram i’d suggest looking at practice tests not taking them but looking at the explained answers as well as questions so that you understand them .

Wait guys we can use graphing calculators?

@StingRayLuis yes, but considering that the problems are pretty much all concept based, you probably won’t use it much

Could someone explain why number 3 is D?

Nevermind, I wasn’t thinking. How would one find out how to do number 50 though?

can’t you get a three just by guessing on the multiple choice and just trying the frqs? Everyones goin for 4s and 5s, but i think its really easy to get a 3

Anyone got any last second tips for the experimental section? Should I be familiar with all the labs my class did?

Has anybody done the chime lab frq thing concerning speed of sound? Just curious on how someone would phrase the lab proceedure description

Does anyone know if a Physics 2 practice test also exists?

It does, but only teachers have access to it.

Guys only an hour left ughughughughughughughughugh

Yo I need some honest advice from someone. Please refrain from bashing me since I haven’t prepared for this exam until now. I haven’t payed much attention in class and don’t know what we’re doing in physics, should I still try on this exam? I’m going for a 4 or 5 but I feel like I can’t get that now, so should I not try and then just cancel my score later? Thanks for any feedback.

@PinkMist Just try the test, and if you don’t feel good about your performance, cancel or withhold your scores.
