For my Senior year, I have a choice between AP Physics C and AP Chemistry. I know both teachers are great teachers, as they would be the same teachers that taught me AP Physics B and Honors Chemistry (I got As in both classes, but I am much more interested in Physics. However, a number of people have told me AP Chem would be a better choice for college). If I plan to study engineering at a university such as MIT/UCBerkeley/UChicago, which would be the better choice?

You can’t choose both? That really sucks, especially since you say both teachers are great. Since both are great teachers, I’d recommend you just take Physics since that’s what you’re interested in.

Many kids at our HS took AP chemistry (organic) because it’s not always easy to find a good chemistry teacher in the subject. I think it’s easier to find good physics teachers & if you go into physics or engineering, you’ll likely need to retake. You MAY be able to waive out of chemistry if you take AP chemistry. Not sure on that. That being said, neither of my kids too AP chem & S did take AP Physics C, which he enjoyed.

I think Physics C is more relevant to engineering. You’re gonna have to take chemistry eventually. Also, if you want both, Chem is definitely easier to self-study, but it’s still hard.
