Hi, I'm signing up for classes next year and I have to choose between AP Physics C or AP Psychology and AP Statistics.
(I'm a fairly strong math and physics student - right now I'm self-studying AP Physics B and I will be taking AP Calculus BC next year)

Would a good grade in AP Physics C help more than good grades in AP Psychology and AP Statistics on the college resume?

Which option would be more helpful for pre-med?

I recommend that you take AP Physics C. The reasons are two-fold. Taking AP Calculus BC concurrently with a science/engineering course that requires Calculus make both courses more meaningful. The origins of Calculus are in physics, and that I think is the best match for the concurrent course.

The second reason is that selective colleges are looking especially at the core curriculum, and physics is part of that core. Psychology is inherently a soft course at the high school level – whether it is AP or not. There’s merit in taking statistics, since it’s widely applicable. So that would be a second choice.

Physics C also offers you two college credits electromagnetism and mechanics.
