<p>You might think E&M is harder, but half the people in my AP Physics class decided to take E&M only and not Mechanics (we had first semester mechanics; second semester E&M). I should’ve done the same, considering my horrid score in Mechanics lol.
Apparently, E&M makes more sense to them than Mechanics. I’m actually happy with my 4 in E&M, I thought I’d be bordering between 2/3.
The reason is that they can’t overcomplicate the problems too much, there’s a limit to the types of problems they can put on the exam. Mechanics, however, they can squeeze tons of random stuff in there.</p>
<p>If you got a 5 on Mech, go ahead for the E&M self-study. It does have more Calculus-application, but that shouldn’t be too much of a problem. And you’ll probably do fine, considering you don’t have to take Mechanics alongside it.</p>
