I'm in AP Physics right now and I don't know which test I'll be taking this May. What should I put down on my CommonApp?

If you are taking AP Physics C now (that is, Mechanics AND Electrcity/Magnetism), who will be blessed in taking and paying for TWO tests. This is what our S's physics teacher advised us at Back to School Night. I believe (but check this) that the AP Physics B students just take the Mechanics test.

Um...there are two separate AP Physics C's: Mechanics; and Electricity and Magnetism. Many schools offer a year-long class that covers both. AP Physics B students usually take the AP Physics B exam. I don't believe the common application asks what exam you'll be taking, but the class you're in. The easiest way to know is whether or not your doing calculus level physics. Just ask your teacher actually.

And AP Physics B actually covers MORE than the C tests. There are 2 C tests each half as long as a regular AP exam, one on mechanics and one on electricity and magnetism. They cover those 2 topics in depth and use calculus. There's on B exam that covers BOTH those topics, plus waves/optics, thermodynamics/heat engines, and nuclear physics. The difference is they go less in depth on the electricity and magnetism and DON'T use calculus. (both tests pretty much cover the same exact topics in mechanics just the C has the calculus equations)
