I've read up (at least I think I have) on Harvard's AP policy, in that a student can elect to initiate advanced standing or merely use AP credits to test out of prerequisites.

My question is, does anyone have a link to a list of what courses can be used to test out of what prerequisites? All the lists that I've found, such as those at
Advanced Standing: Course Equivalencies
and
Advanced Standing: General Information
describe how AP credits are used to earn credits toward advanced standing. I am simply interested in seeing what classes I could test out of with a 5 on certain AP exams.

I apologize if this has been asked before or if I missed an obvious list.

Thanks.

Last I checked, they don’t really provide a general list of what gets your where, rather, the school will offer you a personal list of what your AP scores (and Harvard placement tests) can give you. Furthermore, it’s really damn near impossible to test out of prerequisites. Rather, there are differing of levels of rigor for generally the same material one of which you will have to take. For example, Physical Sciences 2, Physics 11a, Physics 15a, and Physics 16 engage in similar material and if you’re in need of first year physics, any of the aforementioned would be sufficient. However, since you mentioned prerequisites, I can only imagine you’re math/science, what I can offer you is the following:

5 on physics B: Physics 11a, 15a
5 on Calc AB: Math 1b
5 on Calc BC: Math 21a
5 on Chemistry: Chemistry 17, Chemistry 20, Life Sciences 1a, Physical Sciences 1
5 on Languages: Place out of freshman requirement, you will minimally take a numbered language course.

I hope this was helpful. Do PM or follow up on this thread if I was ambiguous on some parts.
