AP Procrastination Stories:

BUMP fwiw... :p

haha wow, i'm so jealous of all of you guys. :D

this thread rocks.

woah, big bump.

Let's see, now that I know my scores for last May's exams, I can at least answer this question:
any Spanish stories from white kids?
I'm actually Asian, but I really don't know any Spanish even after taking four and a half years of it. Didn't study much for the exam until right before it, and pulled off a 3. That's actually my lowest AP score ever, but I was more happy with it than I was with the 5 I got on AP English lit that year! Yeah, I'm just not that great at Spanish...

"Im starting to get nervous about the econs. I am giving myself monday night - thursday to study micro + macro. Are those stories about people studying for 2 hrs and getting 5's really true for these tests. The q's for the people who didnt "sleep through the class." I dont take these for classes."
I read a macro econ book, then 250 pages of the wealth of nations because I wanted to see where it actually said the "invisible hand" I didnt find it but theres another 750 pages so its prob in there. I took macro and at lunch I stayed in my track, ate a corn muffin and read the barrons micro. I think the macro book covered some of the micro, because I knew some of the stuff. I found out that morning that there were essays for the open responses (Im a math/hard science kid). 4 and 4

I finished studying for my micro completely. Im a soph and my school doesnt offer APs, so im starting out slow this year. Just one sat II and one AP. Next year 3 APs, im actually going to be smart about my time and being studying stats in the summer, because im takin four SAT IIs next year plus the SATs... Damn I got a busy year.

But back to the Micro, i plan on getting a 5, because its the only standardized test ive yet to take, so i decided to get started early, and now im finished. But now i have to start studying for SAT II WH. But that should be easy.

I took 9 tests last year..

lit: didn't take the class, didn't study, got raped... 3
chem: had 1 semester of this... read up on the stuff (PR) that wasn't covered the night before the test... 4
bio: no class, read cliffs the day before (skipping the labs)... 4
mechanics/e&m: no class, spent 2 whole days studying for these (PR) but still got raped.. probably because I didn't do any practise problems... 3/3
psych: had first semester of the class.. then took the test five months later with a little bit of skimming through a few chapters of PR during lunch before the test... 4
micro/macro: no class, read through PR the night and did the problems in the back, cake... 5/5
us history: one semester of class, crammed 200 years the night before the test (PR)... 4

WOW these r truly inspirational for a procrastinator like myself. I haven't taken any AP tests, but knowing me it is gonna come down to like the nite b4 to study for them...

I didn't take the AP US government course. I bought a prep book a week before the test, studied for 1-2 hours per day, and got a 5.

My Euro teacher told us about 3 months before the test to start reviewing. Alas, I did not, and waitied until the last week. I remember, I opened the stupid review book, and the first line was osmething like, "If you're opening this book for the time a week before the AP, you're in trouble." Oh well! ^^;; I studied for about 2-3 hours each night that week, as well as fool-sound study sessions with my friends. I wound up getting a 4. :D

My soph yr, the AP US history test happened to be the day after a playoff game for my hometown hockey team, the not so good this year Flyers. So when it came time to study, I obviously chose to watch the game instead. I studied up until WWI and got a 4.

For Euro I only studied a little bit but had somehow learned in class and pulled off a 5 thanks to my amazing essays.

My sr yr I took Eng Lit and I didn't even study cause it was a bull AP test. I wrote one of my essays about my favorite book, Madame Bovary by Flaubert, cause I had written a term paper on it a year before so I knew what I was talking about. I would have failed without that haha but I got a 4. It was awesome.

and one more encouraging BUMP for this year's round.

thanks emmeline! haha. this thread is my fav. :)

Anyone here with success stories in online AP classes? I am currently taking an online AP US class and I didnt study the whole year. I am diligently studying the AMSCO APUSH book now and I have done 10 out of 30 chapters, and I do 2 chapters a day.

alas........about 20 days left for 5 tests......hope i can make it.

Bump some more. Also, remember to reply after you've taken your exams so you can be like "OMFG... OWN3d the exam."

Is it considered cramming if I'm just starting to study now when my AP Bio test is on May 14th?

And guess what I just found out? The concert I bought tickets for is on MAY 13TH!!! I didn't know at the time though, I bought the tickets before I knew when the test was.

haha, ouch. and the ap bio test is in the morning. too bad its not an afternoon test.

Eh I thought about it and I realized it doesn't really matter. I would be going to sleep that night too nervous to fall asleep until 12 anyway if I got into bed at 10. And since I'll get back from the concert at around 12, I can sleep in the car anyway. So it really won't make much of a difference.

Besides I'm not one of those ppl that needs sleep to function. I don't get tired until after the test is over and I just crash.

this thread is just AWESOME!

all lies... lies and lies of lies
